LOST AT E MINOR
My best friend on the planet would have to be the inspirational, aspirational sensational bank of creative goodness that is Lost at E Minor. Compiled and updated on a weekly basis, the Lost team pour through the hottest and simultaneously coolest art, illustration, music and culture our generation is creating right now and deliver it to me (and you) on a platter. It's enough to send your left brain into a frenzy.
TYPO
Ahhh, what would we do without TYPO. Make mistakes thats what. Well you can say goodbye to dull, lifeless copy and cringeworthy grammatical errors as TYPO copywriting and editing services will make you and your product sound like a million bucks. And if you want it to look like a million bucks I might be able to help you. For the small price of only one million bucks. Typo didn't write this copy. See why we need her?
JEREMYVILLE
One of my first creative idols, Jeremy may have something to do with the development of my fascination with strange creatures. I will never forget when I worked for Jeremy back in the day. He sent me off to my first photo shoot with a sketch he had just whipped up depicting a camera with arms and legs taking a picture of a bowl of posing fruit characters and saying "Just act natural". Check out his recent work here.
FUBUKI
You don't have to dress like a hippy to save the planet. Two thumbs up to the new fashion label which allows you look sharp while you are thinking green. Fubuki is a 100% organic and environmentally friendly T shirt company with a Japanese flavour. Check out the current range here.
ATLANTA SHOES
Embracing the age of limited edition fashion, Atlanta Game is an Italian shoe label with a difference. Launching a new range each season tagged Pet Shoes, each pair comes with a postcard on the shoe designer and a show box which folds out to make a faux TV set. Sneak a peek here.
ZUSTER
Ok, so I admit I have never met the Zuster girls but I am going to pretend we are real friends anyway because they run my favorite furniture label of all time. The Zuster collections are the stunning creation of four sisters who have been perfecting their craft since the 90s. I love the furniture because it is world class, stunning quality, and reaches that aspirational creative ideology of achieving unique and simultaneously classic design. Peruse their site.
JARDAN
My first experience of sofa love was with a Jardan. I was walking past a furniture store when I caught my first glimpse. I peered in the window until I got the courage to go and sit on it. My perfect sofa. Aesthetically pleasing and blisfully comfortable all at once. In the following months I practically moved into the shop just to be near it. The attendants thought I was homeless and tried to shoo me out. Eventually, to the detriment of my wardrobe and social life, I saved up the cash and took it home. I love it more every day. Visit Jardan.
HUNTER VALLEY DESIGN
I don't know where to look when I go to Hunter Valley Design because I love almost everything. They just get it. I actually avoid it because I am scared I might buy something impulsively. Probably because they stock Zuster and Jardan. If only I had room for another sofa. Have a look at their site.
ABODE
Nestled in hall street Bondi next to the scrumptious GUSTO cafe, ABODE is my favorite gift shop. I think it's because of the sheer quantity of printed product, it's really inspiring for me. I love prints. Much to the dismay of the shop owner, sometimes I just go in there to look at all of the colours and patterns for inspiration. I recently bought a cupcake recipe book there out of sheer guilt.
STU
Sydney's edgiest free street press, STU magazine has had an impact on design itself with it's editors encouraging experimental art direction and content. I was delighted to have the chance to guest art direct the Patchwork Issue in which all of the titles and some illustrations were hand sewn by yours truly. Yes it was a labour of love. A literally painful one. Sewing needles, I discovered, are not for sewing through things other than fabric. Check out more here.

ARIEL BOOK SHOP
If you are sick of looking for inspiration online and want to feel the texture of some pages beneath your fingertips then Ariel is your dream come true. Seriously. I go there. And annoy the staff by reading all of the books and not buying them. Except the good ones which I have to buy because I have this thing where I have to support other designers that I love. Do you know what I mean? It's not just books. It can be anything from art to a well designed shampoo bottle. A curse and a blessing they say. Have a read.
KINDERGALLERY
Hosting a collection of beautiful children's artworks, Kindergallery is the baby of Fiona Lang. Limited edition, canvas and wall design from a range of contemporary artists all in one place. What a sweet idea! Peruse the gallery here.

ECHIDNA PLACE
I'm not sure weather it is due to it's location in Bangalow, my favorite town in Australia, or the exquisite selection of amazing and unusual kid's stuff that makes Echidna Place the best kid's store I have stepped foot in. It is to the point that I haven't even given birth yet and I still buy things from there because it's all so damned cool that I think, "I need someone to grow up with this thing so they will understand design". I'm serious. My goddaughter Molly is one lucky little tacker I can tell you. Ask me for more info.
BUZZ
Definitely the coolest place I have ever worked. Have you ever heard of a company that has 'show and tell' on Monday mornings where everyone has to bring something cool and tell everyone about it? Or a discussion booth reminiscent of something from the set of Maxwell Smart? Despite the fact that show and tell had a tendency to create diversion, it was such a cool idea that demonstrated the innovative nature of BUZZ, wanting to explore all of the newest creative discoveries of it's employees. It is reflected in the conceptual work they produce. Look at products designed by OTHER for BuzzGet a BUZZ.
MUSHU
Is it becoming obvious that I am heavily inspired by Japanese design? Well I am possibly the most un Japanese looking girl you will ever see but it has been suggested to me more than once that perhaps Japan is in my blood. I am drawn to it like a magnet. Which is why I love Mushu. When I stumbled across the Surrey Hills store for the first time it was like a religious experience (from what I've heard). Everything I worshipped was in there. High Tea with Mrs Woo. Bencke Dolls.  I think you should go there and find out for yourself.
